Harmeet Dhillon has been nominated by Trump to serve as the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. This prominent GOP lawyer significantly profited from her law firm, earning millions, along with $43,531 from X in the past year. She is at least the third Trump nominee to generate income as a content creator on Elon Musk’s platform.
One of President Donald Trump’s key law enforcement nominees, Dhillon, reported making tens of thousands of dollars through online postings last year. In a financial disclosure released on Thursday, she revealed that her earnings from X’s content-creator revenue program amounted to $43,531. With over 1.1 million followers on X, Dhillon is an active user of the social media platform.
She joins a growing list of Trump nominees who have benefited financially from this platform. National Institute of Health Director nominee Jay Bhattacharya reported earnings of $11,995 from the same program, while Sam Brown, a former Nevada GOP Senate candidate nominated for the position of Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, made $5,169.
The revenue program, established by Elon Musk after his acquisition and rebranding of Twitter, allows premium users to receive payouts based on engagement generated by other premium users. All three nominees, including Dhillon, have committed to demonetizing their accounts should they be confirmed for their respective roles.
Dhillon’s principal source of income comes from her legal practice, as she disclosed earnings exceeding $2 million from her firm, Dhillon Law Group, in the previous year. Her major clients included notable figures such as President Trump and his campaign, Tucker Carlson, the Republican National Committee, Caitlyn Jenner, and X itself. Additionally, she earned a $300,000 salary from the Center for American Liberty, a civil liberties-oriented nonprofit organization she co-founded in 2018, along with $50,000 from four paid speaking engagements.
